How It Works

Tenovi Scale Quick Start Guide
Power Your Gateway
Plug your Gateway into a power outlet with the provided power cord and wait until the LED on the Gateway turns RED.
Remove Pull Tab
Remove pull tab from the battery compartment to power on the device.
Scale Placement
- A) Place your scale on a flat and hard surface.
- B) Do NOT place the scale on carpet or soft surface.
- Step on the scale with clean, bare feet.
- War as little clothing as possible.
Scale Operation
Step onto the scale with bare and dry feet and wait for the scale to power on and take measurement. When the measurment concludes, the results are show on display. If the LED ring is GREEN , you have properly taken a measurement for the day and that measurement has been successfully transmitted.
Daily Measurements
Take one measurement each day unless advised otherwise by your healthcare provider. The LED will turn RED each morning and then turn GREEN once a measurement has been successfully transmitted.
When Taking Measurement
Before You Measure
- Place the RPM scale on a flat, solid floor, such as tile, hardwood, etc.
- Stand still, centered, and balanced.
Taking Your Weight Measurement
- Weigh yourself at the same time daily.
- Morning is ideal because it minimizes fluctuations due to food intake and hydration levels.
- Clothing can add variable weight. Use consistent clothing or none at all.
- Avoid weighing immediately after exercise or showering. Physical activity and hot showers can cause weight fluctuations due to fluid loss or retention. Wait at least 30 minutes before weighing.
Error Codes
- This device does not display error codes.
Device Specifics
Pairing and Bonding
- This device does not pair or bond. This makes setup and continued use easy. This means that other Gateways or devices can connect to this device, even if a Gateway is whitelisted.
- Please stay on the scale until the Gateway beeps and turns green.
Storage Events
- The scale will remember up to 64 historical measurements.
Maintenance
Device Reissue
- If this is a replacement device sent to an existing patient, there are no additional steps to connect it ot the Gateway.
- The Tenovi Scale is compatible with Gateway firmware 1.4.66 or 2.154.35. Using a Gateway with an earlier firmware version may cause connectivity problems.
Gateway Basics
Getting Started
- 1. Connect the Gateway power cord to an electrical outlet.
- 2. Plug the Gateway power cord into the Gateway
- 3. The Gateway LED will first flash PURPLE for up to 10 minutes.
This means that the Gateway is trying to connect to a cell tower. Once connected to a cellular network, the Gateway will turn RED. If it goes RED and back to PURPLE , it’s looking for the strongest signal. The Gateway will go from PURPLE to BLUE if it can’t find a signal.
Taking A Measurement
- 1. Take a measurement with the Tenovi device(s) included with the Gateway.
- 2. When the Gateway is RED it’s ready for you to take your daily measurement. The Gateway LED will turn YELLOW while a measurement is being taken, and will flash GREEN when the measurement has been successfully transmitted.
- 3. The LED will remain GREEN for the remainder of the day, however you can take as many additional readings as necessary and all readings will transmit.
- 4. The LED will revert back to RED everyday at midnight, acting as a reminder to take a reading every day.

Steps to Whitelist Device
To whitelist a device with a Gateway, follow these steps:
- 1. Prepare the Environment: Ensure that the only device near the Gateway is the one you want to add to the whitelist. All other devices should be at least 3 feet away. Plug the power cable into the Gateway.
- 2. Position the Device: Place the device you want to whitelist as close as possible to the Gateway.
- 3. Activate Whitelist Mode: Press and hold down the button on the Gateway until you see a pulsing white light.
- 4. Take a Measurement: Use the device to take a measurement. Once the Gateway connects to the device, the pulsing white light will stop. You will see the normal connection sequence, and when it is done, a white light will appear near the top of the LED ring.
- 5. Verify Whitelisting: Ensure that the LED ring displays a white section at the top, indicating a successful whitelisting attempt.
- 6. Repeat these steps for each device you need to whitelist. If you need to remove a device from the whitelist, disconnect the Gateway from power, press and hold the center button while reconnecting to power, wait for a beep and flash, then release the button.
